Meeting with local government minister
· Last week the NALC chairman Cllr Sue Baxter, policy adviser Andrew Tubb and Jonathon Owen had a meeting with local government minister, Marcus Jones MP to discuss parish precepts.

Precept raises - obtaining a Gloucestershire picture
Oxfordshire ALC had a meeting of its larger councils yesterday. There was a discussion about referendum principles.
In Oxfordshire, it appears that a good proportion of this year's increase will be due to two local factors – parishes funding children's centres which would otherwise have closed; and councils supporting local bus services.
