Local Council Award Scheme

The LCAS was launched by NALC in 2015. There are three levels, foundation (minimum best practice), quality (excellent practice and quality gold (exemplar practice).

The two higher levels require the clerk to be qualified (hold the CiLCA qualification) and have two-thirds of the council democratically elected (not co-opted).
