The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government has announced that the Section 137 limit for 2019/20 financial year will be £8.12 per elector.

The Executive Committee are meeting on Thursday to agree the subscription rates for 2018/19.
Three options are being discussed, as soon as a decision has been made all GAPTC members will be informed.
2017/18 subs were 31.98 pence per electorate (this is made up of 25.25 pence to GAPTC and 6.73 pence to NALC).
NALC approved an increase from 6.73 pence to 6.86 pence for 2018/19.

A special meeting of the Executive Committee was convened today to discuss and agree the GAPTC subscription fees for 2016/17.
A finance working group had previously met to set out the budget for the forthcoming year, and to analyse the financial models presented (ranging from no increase to 2.5 pence per elector).
It was unanimously agreed that an increase of 1 pence would be added.

We have been contacted by quite a few councils relating to the potential loss of LCTS, as local councils will have to increase the precept to 'bridge the gap'.
Councils could consider the option of increasing the precept alongside the LCTS, and accrue funds (into financial reserves), to be used when the grant ceases in order to soften the blow, especially as the precept is not being capped currently.... Read More »
