The Queen's Speech was delivered in Parliament on 14 October, setting out the government's forthcoming legislative agenda. The Non-Domestic Rating (Public Lavatories) Bill was not among the list of bills announced, NALC will continue to press the government on this. Toilets Bill
The Non-Domestic Rating (Public Lavatories) Bill had its Second Reading in the House of Lords on 10 July. External audit non responses
Smaller Authorities Audit Appointments (SAAA) are now receiving management information returns from the audit suppliers – currently, their main concern is the number of authorities they have had no response from, this is higher than in previous years. NALC Study Tour 2018
A sold out NALC Study Tour at Chippenham Town Council was attended by over 30 delegates, which included government officials. It was the first time the tour was opened up to members outside of the Larger Councils Committee.
