External audit non responses
Smaller Authorities Audit Appointments (SAAA) are now receiving management information returns from the audit suppliers – currently, their main concern is the number of authorities they have had no response from, this is higher than in previous years. At the end of last week there were over 700 authorities who had not responded at all.

Congratulations to Tetbury Town Council on achieving 'Quality Gold' in the Local Council Award Scheme.
The panel visited the council yesterday to meet the staff and councillors. They also got to see some of the projects, including:-
* Goodshed project
* The new community hub building (recently acquired)
* Picnic areas (including partnership work with the Wildlife Trust)

General Data Protection Regulations
All member councils were sent a copy of the NALC toolkit which contains model policies and templates to use. NALC and SLCC are working together to clarify the situation on the role of the Data Protection Officer on a national basis and with the Bill going through the House of Commons recently, we hope to have more clarification soon. Gloucestershire county is growing in number now of quality councils, if you are interested in being recognised as a quality council please let us know.
You register directly with NALC, but if you wanted to discuss this with us in advance that is not a problem.

A huge congratulations to Painswick Parish Council, who following a panel visit, have achieved Quality Gold in the Local Council Award Scheme.
They are the fourth in the county, and we have two others in the pipeline.
