Hinton PC have achieved the Foundation level of the Local Council Award Scheme (LCAS) which demonstrates 'quality' at a foundation level.
There are three levels to LCAS; 'Foundation', 'Quality' and 'Quality Gold'. This is a nationally awarded scheme which is managed by the National Assocation of Local Councils (NALC).

Alkington PC has been awarded Foundation level of the Local Council Award Scheme. The council was successful in its application in 2017 and, understanding the importance of the award, reapplied when the award expired after 4 years. The Foundation award is a way of benchmarking so that the community can be confident that the council is working lawfully and meets the required standards

NALC urges the government to strengthen the standards regime
The NALC chairman, Cllr Sue Baxter, has written to Robert Jenrick MP, secretary of state for Housing, Communities and Local Government, to renew the call for changes to the current standards regime. Congratulations to Charlton Kings Parish Council on successfully achieving Quality level in the Local Council Award Scheme.
This was our last assessment as a county panel, the new assessment has now commenced and all new LCAS applications will be submitted to a national panel.

NALC's newly elected Management Board of eleven elected councillors, tasked with oversight of NALC, met on 28 January, here's a summary:

Congratulations to Quedgeley Town Council on achieving Quality Gold in the Local Council Award Scheme.
The assessment panel met with the council (staff and councillors) today and a tour of projects/services was provided.
This is a brilliant achievement and shows another local council working to an exemplar standard.
