External audit non responses

Smaller Authorities Audit Appointments (SAAA) are now receiving management information returns from the audit suppliers – currently, their main concern is the number of authorities they have had no response from, this is higher than in previous years. At the end of last week there were over 700 authorities who had not responded at all.

Forest of Dean parish/town councils ONLY

The proposal for the establishment of a Forest Youth Association is being discussed at :

7pm on Thursday 13th September 2018 at Cinderford Town Council, Bellvue Centre.

Please note this is the start of a process, so lots of ideas/options are on the table to identify a way forward for youth provision in FOD which may be supported by parish and town councils.

Updated General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) toolkit

NALC's GDPR toolkit has been updated to reflect the new Data Protection Act 2018 and data protection regime. The changes include the appointment of a Data Protection Officer, which is not mandatory for all local (parish and town) councils, and information about paying the Information Commissioner's data protection fee.

The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Local Democracy, supported by NALC, held its Annual General Meeting on 13 July 2018 at Portcullis House.
