You will have been receiving regular updates from Anita Sach who is coordinating communications, the updates on COVID19 are going straight on to the webpage.
We had an amazing response to our survey from local councils about the work being undertaken during this crisis, further evidencing the positive impact the sector makes – the information will be presented next week.
Sue Creswick is responding to general ticket queries, so keep them coming in. General trends include remote meetings, internal audits, AGAR, co-option and training.
We have invested in zoom (pro) and will be setting up training sessions. Our first virtual training session with the CiLCA students is on 22nd May.
As well as training on zoom we want to establish some 'clerk' drop ins' with specific topics in mind such as business continuity/crisis management (please let us know if you have any ideas).
We have weekly (virtual) conferences with the NALC team and the other CALC's across England to identify issues and ways to support our sector (and share information). Look out for the weekly tweets which provide an overview of the discussions.
Next week in the NALC/CALC catch up we will have an update on the financial impact survey (to our sector because of COVID19) coordinated by NALC, financial support package to Local Government, general compliance including privacy notice.
The South West Local Council Association (includes all the south west CALCs') have a weekly catch up session. Devon CALC produced the top tips in remote meetings (which have been shared to all members), and Cornwall CALC are producing information on Standing Orders.
Other work includes feeding in to the Improvement Development Board and a remote meeting with the IDB panel is scheduled on 12 May.
