GMTF meeting - 7th March 2019
The Gloucestershire Market Town Forum (GMTF) meet later today they will be discussing:-
The High Streets Fund - looking at BID status of applicants (this is suitable for major towns like Gloucester and Cheltenham). There are various pots of cash, but for the smaller towns/retail centres to be successful in securing funding then it is probable that a more collaborative approach needs to be taken.
Elizabeth Weaver of G1st will be presenting the view of the LEP as to how G First led by the business community in partnership with the voluntary,, education and public sector will help the County realise its' economic potential. She will focus her talk on how they can work with Parish and Town Councils.
At this meeting there will also be an update on the 'State of Locality' (this is the work commissioned by GMTF into all the stats available for our member market towns and use them for benchmarking). This should provide and excellent toolkit for new Councils in May.
And finally a very brief introduction to Down your High Street - an on line portal.
