Transparency Code compliance - spot checks

NALC, in line with their work with DCLG regarding compliance with the Transparency Code, have initiated 'spot checks' for smaller councils.

The information that should be online is:

  • · All items of expenditure above £100
  • · Published end of year accounts
  • · Annual governance statement
  • · Internal audit report
  • · List of councillors responsibilities
  • · The details of public land and building assets
  • · Minutes, agendas and meeting papers of formal meetings

We do appreciate that compliance with the code is a work in progress, but from 01 April 2017 failure to comply with the code could result in judicial proceedings. So we do want to ensure you are fully informed and that we can assist Parishes to become/remain compliant.
